Wizz Air opening base in Bacau

Wizz Air will open its 31st base in Bacau, Romania in October, the low-cost airline announced on Tuesday.

The company will base two Airbus A320 planes in the airport, its seventh base in Romania, which will be linked to 12 destinations in six countries from October 29.

Wizz Air will operate flights between Bacau and Torino, Venice Treviso, Bologna, Roma Fiumicino, Milano Bergamo, Catania, Larnaca, London Luton, Liverpool, Memmingen, Billund and Brussels Charleroi airports. The expansion creates more than 70 jobs directly.

CEO József Váradi said in Bacau that Wizz Air is reinforcing its commitment to Romania.

Wizz Air said it is still the largest airline in Romania and is pursuing its mission of introducing air traffic not only to capitals but also to regional airports.
