Bosch researching self-driving cars in Budapest

German engineering giant Bosch has teamed up with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics for research related to self-driving vehicles.

The government will support the Ft 1.6 billion project with a Ft 993 million grant from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund.

The consortium is led by the Robert Bosch company’s Budapest Development Centre, the firm’s second largest development site in Europe.

The consortium wants to improve its existing test automation environment and make vehicle testing more efficient, according to the statement.

The project is to be completed by April 30, 2023.
