New Chinese brand to enter Hungarian market

China’s iCAUR, part of the Cherry Group, will enter Hungary in early 2027, local importer Grand Automotive East announced.

Grand Automotive entered Hungary in 2019 by taking over Nissan’s import operations and has since expanded its portfolio to several other brands.

iCAUR’s lineup combines classic off-road styling with modern technology and some of the models are equipped with range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) powertrains.

Grand Automotive reported net revenue of €95.5 million in 2025, two-thirds of which came from exports, while its net profit exceeded €1.8 million. SUVs account for more than 60% of Hungary’s new-car market.
