The work will include repairs to points, the replacement of rails and sleepers, restoration of the Kelenföld tunnel entrance and retaining wall, and repairs to damaged platform surfaces. A broader redevelopment of the station area is also due to begin soon under the Gábor Baross Railway Development Plan. The announcement follows a shunting locomotive derailment at Déli on Monday, which disrupted rail services.
