Volánbusz signed a framework agreement with two suppliers in 2023 to purchase low-floor suburban buses, but did not place orders at the time. The agreement has remained in force and has now been extended until the end of the year. Iveco and Setra will compete for the order, with a contract potentially signed in November. Using the existing agreement could cut the procurement process by up to nine months and allow the buses to be bought at 2023 prices, the minister added.
