BDPST reduces stake in Gránit Bank



BDPST Group, owned by István Tiborcz, the son-in-law of Viktor Orbán, reduced its stake in Gránit Bank by 9.86% through TiberisDigital Tanácsadó, which held 39.19% of the shares in the digital bank, it was announced on Thursday.

The buyers include FZS Mag Investment, linked to Zsolt Fáy, who also has stakes in MagNet Bank, and two Hungarian investment companies acting in concert.

The transaction aims to diversify Gránit Bank’s ownership structure and strengthen the bank’s long-term growth prospects, the statement read.

Gránit Bank’s Employee Share Ownership Programme Organisation and the Pannónia Pension Fund hold 34.95% and 6.31% stakes in the digital lender, with the free float standing at 19.54%.

The transaction will not result in any changes in the management and leadership of Gránit bank, according to the official statement.
