Fines issued over Hatvanpuszta construction works
The Fejér County Government Office has imposed a Ft 5.7 million heritage-protection fine due to illegal construction works at Hatvanpuszta, the former state farm, which was bought and renovated by Győző Orbán, the former prime minister’s father, RTL Híradó reported.
The construction of ornamental pools, cisterns, a main gate, garden storage, a stone fence, retaining walls and solar panels violated regulations.
Authorities said no demolition permit had been issued for the protected buildings; only their removal down to the deteriorated structural level was allowed. The water tower was the sole exception, as it had no heritage protection.
The architect of the reconstruction of the property, Dániel Taraczky was previously convicted by the Chamber of Architects of violating rules at Hatvanpuszta.
He was fined almost Ft 1 million and banned from designing for a year. Taraczky appealed the decision.
Former MP Ákos Hadházy reported the demolitions to the police last year without success. He filed a new complaint more recently and the police began an investigation.
