Vitézy discusses road upgrades

Transport and Investment Minister Dávid Vitézy spoke about Hungary’s road upgrade projects in a Facebook post on Thursday.

He said the previous government spent twice as much on propaganda to Gyula Balásy companies in the past few years, than on upgrading the national public roads managed by Magyar Közút.

Only Ft 18 billion was spent on upgrading the entire country’s main and secondary roads in 2024, while more money was spent on building the luxurious new Propaganda Ministry building in Buda Castle said Vitézy, referring to the new offices of former cabinet chief Antal Rogán.

This must be urgently changed, as 20,000km of public roads are in a bad state of decay on the 31,000km main and secondary road network.

Magyar Közút embarked on road upgrades on 250km at 80 locations.
