Budapest Airport reviewing fuel storage capacity

Budapest Airport has said fuel supplies at Liszt Ferenc International Airport remain stable, with no reported shortages or significant flight cancellations, despite broader concerns about jet fuel availability in Europe.
The operator noted that current storage capacity at the airport covers roughly four to five days of demand.
Daily kerosene consumption is typically in the range of 1,200-2,000 tons, rising during the summer peak as traffic increases.
The statement follows recent warnings by Fatih Birol of the International Air Transport Association that fuel shortages could begin affecting European flights by late May.
Budapest Airport said it is now examining options to expand storage capacity in response.
