Winner gets Ft 7bn in record lottery jackpot

Following more than six months of accumulation, a lottery player won Ft 6.8 billion, the biggest jackpot ever seen in Hungary, on the ötös lottery on Saturday evening.

If the winner changed it all into Ft 1,000 banknotes, and placed them end to end, the line would reach from Budapest to Naples, Index writes.

The winning numbers were: 9, 23, 45, 71 and 84.

The winner has 90 days from the day after the draw to claim the money.

The winner must have a current account at a bank in Hungary, as payments of such high sums must take place as a bank transfer.
