Revolut to introduce Hungarian accounts, new fees

Neobank Revolut has informed its clients that it will establish a Hungarian branch, with local users set to receive domestic bank account numbers in the future.
The change is expected to simplify incoming payments and make it easier for clients to settle utility bills through the platform.
At the same time, the company will introduce a transaction fee on forint transfers, in line with local taxes.
The charge will amount to 0.45% of the portion exceeding Ft 50,000, to a maximum of Ft 20,000 per transaction.
Transfers between Revolut accounts will remain free of charge.
Based on typical usage – taking into account income, transfer volumes and cash withdrawals – the annual fees for a Revolut account could range from Ft 24,000 to as much as Ft 234,000.
The migration of existing clients to the new system will be gradual, starting two months after notification emails are sent.
