Magyar draws huge crowd in Pécs

A crowd estimated by police at tens of thousands gathered in Pécs on Saturday evening, filling the central Széchenyi Square and the surrounding streets to welcome Péter Magyar.
The opposition leader said Hungary has “one last chance” to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the 1956 revolution as a free and sovereign country.
Claiming that 50,000 volunteers are supporting him, he stated that the Tisza party is ready to govern, with a clear programme and recognised experts.
He also criticised Fidesz, saying its leaders have spent 16 years in power without a real programme other than "we continue to steal”.
Every vote is needed to change the government, he continued, because the election must be won “not by a little, but by a lot”.
Viktor Orbán is “the new János Kádár” he said, because just as Kádár invited the Russians in 1956, now Russian agents are stationed under diplomatic cover in Budapest to influence the elections.
He then led the crowd in chanting “Russians go home”.
Magyar urged voters to support his Tisza party by voting for its candidates and party lists, warning against “satellite parties” and stressing that a decisive victory is needed to change the government.
He cautioned supporters to expect a harsh campaign and to avoid provocations.
