Most prefer Magyar to Orbán as PM



Some 45% of Hungarians would prefer Péter Magyar as prime minister over Viktor Orbán, while 37% would favour the incumbent and 18% could not choose between the two, according to the results of a survey conducted by the Republikon Institute on February 12 -17.

Half of the supporters of opposition parties other than Tisza and Our Homeland would be happy with Magyar as prime minister, but only 8% would prefer Orbán and 42% could not decide.

Two-thirds of Our Homeland voters would choose Orbán and only 7% would be glad to see Magyar as prime minister.

Among undecided voters Magyar is more popular, as 35% of the undecided would prefer him compared to 20% for Orbán.

Some 46% of the respondents said the upcoming elections will result in a change of cabinet, and 40% expect another Fidesz victory.
