Self-driving cars to appear soon in Budapest

AI government commissioner László Palko¬vics said in an interview with Index that the first self-driving cars will be unveiled in a few weeks, which will be driving on the streets of Budapest.

Negotiations are underway on creating a large data centre, humanoid robots will be manufactured in Hungary, and a diagnostic-oncology centre will be set up, he added.

The former innovation and technology minister, who began his career as an engineer at Knorr-Bremse, was appointed AI government commissioner a year ago.

Palkovics also served as state secretary for higher education.
