Miskolc acquires site of former steelworks
The municipality of Miskolc has acquired majority ownership of the former Diósgyőr Steelworks for Ft 6 billion, funded from budgetary sources.
The local government acquired 33.6 hectares of land, including factory halls, offices, workshops, and infrastructure.
The city will begin public consultations on the future use of the site next month to involve residents in planning. The site could be turned into an area with commercial and community functions.
