EVE Power to hire 400 for Debrecen battery plant

Chinese company EVE Power Hungary will begin a recruitment drive in Debrecen and nearby towns at the end of January, aiming to hire around 400 technicians, engineers and support staff for its newly built plant, senior executives said on Tuesday.
The factory, which will supply EV battery cells to the BMW Group, currently employs 165 people, with serial production scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.
EVE Power said 90% of the planned 1,000 employees will be Hungarian.
CEO Zhang Huanting noted that the Debrecen site will be the group’s first manufacturing facility outside China.
Located next to BMW’s car plant, it will produce advanced cylindrical battery cells offering around 30% longer range and 30% faster charging, enabling driving distances of more than 900km on a single charge.
