Consultation on fake Tisza tax plan cost Ft 400mn
Producing the forms for last autumn’s national consultation targeting the Tisza Party’s alleged tax plan cost more than Ft 400 million, according to data obtained by website aHang from the Prime Minister’s Office after a delayed response.
A court recently ruled that the plan attributed to the Tisza Party by Fidesz, and then made the subject of a national consultation was a fabrication with no connection to the opposition party.
As in previous years, 7.8 million forms were printed by Gyula Balásy’s company, Lounge Design, the usual winner of government advertising contracts, for a gross cost of just over Ft 401 million, around Ft 50 million more than for a similar order last year.
Official government communication says 1.6 million people responded, but no verification documents were published.
The data also shows that 7.5 million forms have been mailed so far, meaning about 300,000 have not yet been sent.
