Tesco axed 600 jobs in August

The number of employees at Tesco Global Aruhazak shrank from 9,760 in July to 9,132 in August, according to the website HR Portal and Opten company information service.
A trend of staff reductions has been observed at Tesco over the past three years.
The number of employees usually decreases towards the end of summer, and August is always the lowest point in the year, as this is when the internship contracts for the previous academic year expire.
Among retail companies, Lidl Hungary’s headcount rose by five to 9,695 people from July to August, surpassing Tesco and rising to second place behind Spar, with 13,322 employees.
