8 Hungarian tourists killed in Kenya plane crash



A small plane carrying Hungarian tourists crashed in Kwale county near the Kenyan coast on Tuesday morning.

The authorities fear that none of the 11 people on board survived the disaster.

The plane crashed in a woody area about 40km kilometres from the airport shortly after take off.

Of the ten passengers, eight were Hungarians and two were Germans. The passengers were all tourists, while the pilot was from Kenya.

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said two minors are also among the fatalities.

The tourists were visiting the Maasai Mara national park, a popular tourist destination.

Szijjártó said more information would be released once the victims had been identified and their families informed of the disaster.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and President Tamás Sulyok sent their condolences in separate messages.
