Tisza courts top private-sector executives

Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisza Party, has held talks with István Kapitány, former global vice president of Shell and one of Hungary’s most successful business leaders.

Magyar announced on social media that they discussed economic and energy issues, praising Kapitány’s international achievements but offering no details about future co-operation.

Kapitány spent 37 years at Shell, including a decade as global vice president, where he oversaw the company’s mobility business, managing more than 45,000 units in 85 countries and nearly 500,000 employees.

He also serves as president of the National Managers Association.

According to HVG, Kapitány’s meeting with Magyar is part of a broader consultation series. Magyar has recently sought input from several internationally recognised Hungarian experts, including Anita Orbán, global director at Vodafone, who previously served as Hungary’s ambassador for energy security during the second Orbán government.

Tisza’s spokesperson confirmed that these discussions aim to shape the party’s economic and governance programme.

“Péter Magyar is consulting with numerous internationally respected Hungarian professionals as he builds a programme for a functioning and humane Hungary,” the party said.
