Renovated Keleti station reopens
Keleti train station resumed operations on Sunday afternoon after being closed for renovations, MÁV CEO Zsolt Hegyi announced on Sunday evening.
Although renovation works were officially completed, the station could not open on Sunday morning due to a power reconnection issue.
The station had been disconnected from the grid for a month, and the early-hours restoration early on Sunday triggered temporary disturbances in safety equipment.
The renovation, which began on August 25 and cost around Ft 4.4 billion, included more interventions than initially planned.
