Payouts increased by Ft 3 billion compared to the same period of last year and have doubled since 2020, as the average value of claims expanded to Ft 139,000, from Ft 137,000 last summer. Mabisz said higher payouts can be attributed to the increasing intensity of storms, but increased construction and repair costs are also a factor. Counties most affected by storm damage are Pest, Hajdú-Bihar, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Békés and Csongrád-Csanád. Mabisz pointed out that clients can now report damages quickly digitally.
