Orbán reveals election date on his shirt

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán prominently displays the numbers 4.12.2026 on a T-shirt he is wearing in a photograph posted on his Facebook plage, apparently revealing the date of next year’s parliamentary elections as April 12.
In theory, election dates are determined by the head of state, and announced at least 72 days before polling day.
April 12 has been frequently mentioned of late, and Nézőpont Institute director Sámuel Ágoston Mráz said as long ago as January that the likeliest would be the Sunday after Easter: April 12, 2026.
Political analyst Gábor Török posted the picture of Orbán in a black T-shirt on his own Facebook page, with the text “The date of the elections is now official”.
