MTelekom sets date for share buyback

Magyar Telekom will complete the remaining part of a Ft 24 billion share buyback announced last year between March 17 and April 2, totalling Ft 1.7 billion, the company announced on Thursday.
The share buybacks will be carried out on the BSE primarily via daily trading and if necessary, through negotiated transactions on actual market prices.
The company added that it will decide on the schedule for the repurchase of a further Ft 39.1 billion of shares after its April general meeting.
In a separate strategic move, Magyar Telekom confirmed the spin-off of its passive mobile infrastructure into a wholly owned subsidiary, which could be concluded by year-end.
Economx reported that the value of the infrastructure unit could be near €700 million, roughly 21% of Magyar Telekom’s market capitalisation, with a projected annual ebitda of €35-40 million.
