The club’s financial troubles worsened after club president Zsolt Homlok divorced Ágnes Mészáros, the daughter of Lőrinc Mészáros, which led to a loss of state-backed business for Homlok’s companies. The club has also struggled with the high maintenance costs of its nearly 10,000-seat stadium, built in the early 2010s. Currently, the Haladás football team competes in the third tier, NB III.
