Tisza maintains poll lead over Fidesz
Péter Magyar’s Tisza party remains the most popular party in Hungary, but its support is no longer growing, according to the latest poll by the Republikon Institute.
The upstart party has the support of 37% of decided voters, ahead of Fidesz with 32%.
The Democratic Coalition is a distant third with 8% support, with Our Homeland nearly level on 7% and the Two-tailed Dog Party at 6%, following a slight rise in support.
Tisza’s lead over Fidesz among all eligible voters is narrower at 26-23%. The Democratic Coalition and Our Homeland each have 5% and the Dog Party 4%.
Another 28% of respondents were undecided.
In an analysis, Republikon observes that 2025 will test the endurance of the Tisza Party, which is otherwise in its infancy but has achieved serious successes.
An important question, the pollster adds, is how the Tisza Party can maintain voters’ attention and enthusiasm ahead of the 2026 elections.
