Hungary behind in e-learning in EU



A minority of 24.6% of internet users in Hungary took e-learning courses or used online educational materials in 2024, while the EU average rose to 33%, up from 30% a year earlier, Eurostat reports.

Ireland leads in online education with 61%, followed by the Netherlands with 59%, and Finland with 53%.

At the other end of the scale, only 10% of internet users participated in some kind of online education in Romania, 11% in Cyprus and 17% in Bulgaria.

Hungary’s ranking is the sixth lowest in the EU.
