Hungarians’ consumption lowest in EU



The actual individual consumption of the Hungarian population, calculated at purchasing power parity, was 70% of the EU average in 2023, the lowest in the EU, alongside Bulgaria, Eurostat reported on Tuesday.

In 2022, Hungary’s per capita consumption stood at 71%, compared to 69% for Bulgaria.

Hungary’s level of consumption stood at 64% of the EU average in 2011, ahead of Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, Croatia and Estonia.
