Film production credit extended

The Hungarian film subsidy system has been secured for another six years, until 2030, Csaba Káel, the government commissioner for the development of the motion picture industry, announced in Los Angeles on Monday night.

The tax credit, originally introduced in 2004, allows producers of TV series and movies made in Hungary to claim a 30% refund on money spent in the country.

This generous support and experienced Hungarian crews have attracted many Hollywood productions to the country in recent years: recently, for example Alien: Romulus, The Brutalist, Dune: Prophecy, Day of the Jackal and Now You See Me 3 were filmed in Hungary.
