JYSK opens 100th Hungarian store

Danish home furnishings retailer JYSK opened its 100th outlet in Hungary and its third one in Debrecen on Thursday.

At the ceremonial event, president Rami Jensen recalled that JYSK opened its first Hungarian store in 2005 in Fót.

The company’s regional distribution centre, inaugurated two years ago in Ecser, east of Budapest, now supplies 300 stores across five countries.

JYSK, with some 1,000 employees in Hungary, reported Ft 76.4 billion in turnover in the business year ended August 31.

Christian Thorning, the Danish ambassador to Hungary, noted that Danish-owned companies employ more than 16,000 people in Hungary.
