Van-sharing service comes to Hungary

Austrian van-sharing service 123 Transporter has been launched in Hungary, allowing users to rent vans via a mobile app.

The service, available around the clock, offers three van sizes and can be used across the country with no extra mileage charges.

Users aged 18 and over with a category B driving licence can book a van by downloading the app from Google Play or the Apple Store, and uploading their licence.

Currently, the service operates from seven OBI store car parks in and around Budapest, with a fleet of 20 Ford Custom and Transit vans.

An additional 15 vans will be added by October 2024.

Károly Sáfár, head of strategy at the Hungarian partner company, aims to expand the service to provincial cities by early 2025.

He affirmed that, as a fully digital service, 123 Transporter offers 24-hour customer support and roadside assistance.

Founded in 2020 in Austria, 123 Transporter now operates more than 500 vehicles across Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
