Aldi cuts back opening hours

Aldi is reducing its opening hours, due to the coronavirus epidemic, the subsidiary of the German retail chain announced.

From March 23, all Aldi units are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Earlier, Aldi units at frequented locations in Budapest and its surroundings were usually open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weeknights.

With the shorter opening hours, Aldi aims to mitigate the pressure on its staff.
