Wizz Air down to 15% capacity

Wizz Air is operating at only 15% capacity this week and the entire fleet may have to be grounded as restrictions make flying impossible, the budget airline told Reuters on Monday.

The company had already cut its capacities by 30% in the past month.

The Wizz Air share price took a 9% dive on the London Stock Exchange on Monday and is down 47% since the beginning of the year.

Separately, Wizz Air announced the cancellation of its flights between Budapest and Kutaisi, Georgia until April 20, due to restrictions imposed by the Georgian cabinet.

As Albania has also levied a ban on flights, Wizz Air has cancelled its service between Budapest and Tirana until April 3.
