Public transport less frequent

Budapest public transport will operate on a holiday schedule from March 19, it was announced yesterday.

As schools are closed, there will be 10% fewer BKV vehicles during the morning and afternoon rush hours. A 35% drop in passengers is predicted due to student absenteeism alone.

Home office work ordered by many companies in the city has also contributed to the decline in passenger volume.
