MÁV-Start to renew catering options

State-owned passenger railway company MÁV-Start will relaunch its catering service Utasellátó, deputy CEO and sales director László Kormányos announced yesterday.

All outsourced catering services will be taken back, as MÁV wants to restore its former brand.

In addition, he said, MÁV will operate more overnight trains, as international trends show that more and more travellers are using night trains as an alternative to flights.

The amount of trains with catering and/or sleeping facility services is to be doubled.

MÁV restored dining cars on the Balaton routes last summer and there is further demand for that, Kormányos added. Passengers especially liked cold beer served on trains.
