British ambassador to leave post in September

The British Foreign Office announced in a press statement Thursday that current ambassador Iain Lindsay will be replaced by Paul Fox in September.

Fox worked as minister counsellor in Moscow from 2018 to 2019 and was consul general in Dubai from 2015 to 2018. He called his appointment “an extremely great honour”, and promised to do his best to further the close co-operation between the two countries in an exciting period as the UK establishes new relations with the region and the world.

The 61-year-old Lindsay will retire from diplomatic service. He presented his credentials to President János Áder on March 30, 2016. After his appointment, he delivered a speech in Hungarian and since then has read Hungarian poems and excerpts from novels on his Instagram and Facebook pages.
