Gov’t spent nearly Ft 100 billion on communication

The Cabinet Office run by Antal Rogán has spent nearly Ft 100 billion on communication and national consultations since 2015, HVG reports.

According to available data, Ft 68.5 billion in public funds was spent between 2015 and the end of 2018 with expenditures increasing each year: Ft 2.1 billion was spent in 2015, Ft 12 billion in 2016, 26.2 billion in 2017 and Ft 28.2 billion in 2018.

Final data for 2019 are not yet available, but the budget target for that year was Ft 29.6 billion, which would mean a total expenditure of Ft 98.1 billion in five years. Ft 23.91 billion has been set aside for government communications in the 2020 budget.

The net sum of all domestic advertising in 2018 totalled Ft 226 billion, suggesting that the government accounted for 12% of all Hungarian advertising that year.
