UK Hungarians registering to stay

Some 17,900 Hungarian citizens registered themselves in Great Britain in October, in order to stay in the UK legally after Brexit, British authorities announced.

The number of registered Hungarians has grown to 71,600, not far below the 77,000 officially registered Hungarian employees in the UK.

The actual number of Hungarians living and working in the UK might be much higher than the official figure, Portfolio observes.

The number of registered Bulgarians is 120% of the official statistics on the number of Bulgarians living in the UK, Portfolio highlights. This figure is 95% for Hungarians and Romanians, but only 50% for Poles.
