Viber to launch instant money transfer

Rakuten Viber has teamed up with credit-card company Mastercard to launch instant money transfers.

The feature will be available first in Hungary thanks to the Moneytou function, developed in Hungary, which will allow users of Hungarian-issued bank cards to send money to other Viber users.

In accordance with EU money-laundering regulations, Viber Moneytou allows users to send up to Ft 125,000 a month and Ft 780,000 a year, but the card-issuing banks can set additional limits.

The fee will be Ft 79 between Sundays and Fridays and Ft 49 on Saturdays up to Ft 3,000. Above that amount, users will pay 1.5%.
