Hungarian artist falls off trapeze

A Hungarian trapeze artist fell to the ground at a circus performance in Bosnia as spectators watched, the tabloid Bors reported on Monday.

Lili Picard, 20, who comes from a renowned circus family, was injured during the fall which occurred during an air show. Her mother said Picard’s feet slipped and she fell from a height of five to six metres.

Picard was immediately taken to a local hospital where it was found she had broken her third vertebrae, but she could not undergo an operation.

With the help of the Budapest Circus, the ambulance service and other performers, the family organised her travel home. She was taken to a Kecskemét hospital on the weekend, Bors reported.
