Renowned sax player dies

Saxophone player Gyula Fekete, better known as Saxi Maxi, famous for his role in the groups Hungária and Dolly Roll, died Wednesday at the age of 67 following a protracted illness.

In its eulogy, his family wrote, “Thank you for teaching all of us to live with heart and fight like a lion.”

After the Hungária group dissolved in 1983, Fekete joined Dolly Roll. In 1990, he embarked on a solo career and released two records. He founded the Maximusic publishing house in 1992 and toured the world as a singer and pianist. After 2010, he played in a band on a luxury ship before falling ill in 2014.
