Government paving unpaved roads

Some 45km of unpaved road in Budapest will be paved by the end of the year, ministerial commissioner Kristóf Szatmáry said on Wednesday.

A Ft 10 billion tender was announced at the end of last year and 14 districts filed bids regarding 188 unpaved streets with a total length of 45km.

As not all of the available sum was used up, a second tender of Ft 2 billion was announced.

In this second tender, five districts filed bids to have 10km of road paved.

All roads in the city will be paved in four to five years, according to plans.
