State pays high price for historic wine testing

A tender worth Ft 393 million was awarded to Diagnosticum for examining 12,500 bottles of historic wine kept in state storage, according to the public procurement website.

The company will charge Ft 31,440 per bottle, and will examine the wine by taking a 5ml sample, Népszava reports.

The government launched its Ft 1.5 billion Wine Treasury Programme in the autumn of 2017 for modernising the Tolcsva Wine Museum, which stores 400,000 bottles.
