MÁV to clean carriages more often

Due to frequent passenger complaints over dirty trains, MÁV-Start will begin cleaning carriages more often, the state-owned passenger railway company announced Wednesday.

All textiles in all carriages will undergo chemical cleaning by the summer.

Door handles and toilets will be cleaned each day as before, but so-called high level cleanings will take place every two weeks.

More attention will also be paid to washing the exterior of carriages, according to the order issued by the head of MÁV-Start.

Passengers should notice a higher level of cleanliness, the MÁV-Start statement claimed.
