Budapest to host telecoms conference

Budapest will host the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Telecom World conference in Budapest on September 9-12, under an agreement signed by ITU head Houlin Zhao and a representative of the Hungarian government.

Some 5,000-6,000 representatives from 120 countries are expected to participate in the conference, where 200 government and industry leaders will also gather.

The event provides an opportunity for heads of state to meet with regulators and sector companies and experts.

Hungary previously hosted the ITU conference in 2015.
