Undersecretary slams Budapest Airport

Budapest regional development undersecretary Domonkos Schneller sharply criticised the services provided by Budapest Airport to passengers at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport in a recent letter to air industry news website Air Portal.

Schneller said that he had twice reported his complaints to the airport manager in his official capacity.

He complained of dirty toilets without paper, makeshift terminals, a lack of lifts and escalators, and the condition of buses transporting passengers between terminals and planes.

His main criticism was that Budapest Airport’s owner applies double standards, as services are better at its airport facilities in other countries.

In addition, the Budapest airport is highly profitable, as profits are about half of revenues, Schneller added.
