Dialogue appeals for donations

Dialogue co-president Gergely Karácsony on Wednesday asked supporters for donations because of the suspension of the party’s budget funds by the State Audit Office (ÁSZ).

Karácsony told reporters that the ÁSZ “has become a Fidesz political tool” and has punished practically all opposition parties in the past few years, adding that these parties might have to be dissolved.

He asked many people to contribute a little, saying that if voters give Ft 1,000-2,000 each, then Dialogue will be able to make up the shortfall of funds that, he said, the ÁSZ is illegally withholding in an absurd manner.

Dialogue MP Olivio Kocsis-Cake said nobody but Fidesz MPs and the ÁSZ spokesman thinks that the ÁSZ is independent.

He said the opposition parties are meant to be disabled by the ÁSZ at this year’s European and municipal elections.
