Budapest Airport refreshing old terminals

Due to increased needs of passengers, Budapest Airport is investing Ft 6.5 billion in the development of its old terminals, spokesman Gábor Szarvas announced on Tuesday.

He affirmed that a new Ft 225 billion terminal will also be built, due to open in 2024.

In existing facilities, the number of toilets will be tripled for the summer season and passenger information boards and signs will be renewed.

Travellers will be also informed of the expected queuing time at security gates.

New security checking lines will also be opened to cut the queuing time.

In co-operation with Ryanair, Wizz Air, Lufthansa and Air France-KLM, self-service luggage check-in points will be installed, where passengers can dispatch their bags themselves.

Baggage-directing capacity will be enhanced by 30%.
