Protests across Hungary this week

While no anti-government rallies have been announced in Budapest before Friday, sympathy rallies are planned in cities across Hungary and Europe, website Merce reports.

Parties are organising the demonstrations separately or in impromptu co-operation with one another.

Protest rallies were scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Miskolc, Szombathely, Sopron, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza, Vác, Kecskemét, Orosháza and Zalaegerszeg.

Hungarian expatriates have announced demonstrations in Brussels, Dublin, Helsinki, Warsaw, Paris, Vienna, the Hague and Amsterdam for today and tomorrow.

A crowd of up to 1,500 people protesting in Szombathely was addressed by speakers from the Socialist, Momentum, LMP and Jobbik parties before proceeding to the office of the local newspaper, owned by Lőrinc Mészáros.
