Wizz Air opens pilot training centre

Wizz Air has opened its new pilot training centre in Budapest, the low-cost airline announced on Thursday.

As many as 300 pilots and cabin crew can be trained each day on full flight simulators at the €30 million centre.

Wizz Air opened 130 routes this year, hired 1,000 employees and invested $2.6 billion in fixed assets, CEO József Váradi underlined at the opening ceremony. The number of passengers increased by 20%.

Such an expansion required a new training centre, which now hosts all of the airline’s courses in one location.
